American Social was founded by two friends, Rick Mijares and Paul Greenberg, who met in college at FSU. Since then they always had a dream to open up their own restaurant and bar concept. A couple of years after graduating, the two friends reunited and turned their vision into reality by creating American Social- a restaurant and bar that honors classic Americana. Family is at the core of American Social. Rick’s mother, Laurie Mijares created the interior design for all AMSO locations and Rick’s father, Anthony Mijares, Jr. is the currently the Chairman of American Social Hospitality Group.
"Anthony Mijares, Jr. has been a Florida resident since 1960. Mr. Mijares is currently the Chairman of American Social Hospitality Group. He is also Chairman of the United Group of Companies but was most notably, Chairman of United Homes International, Inc., from 1985 thru 2007.
"A resident of South Florida from the age of 10, Paul Greenberg has been working his way up in the hospitality industry for the past few decades, from a busboy at a pizza restaurant and a bartender at a premier venue to manager and partner at two major North Florida bars.
In 2004, Rick Mijares began working alongside his father at United Homes Intl., a family owned and operated building and development company, which specializes in residential and commercial properties from Miami to Orlando.
