Where will you be this Super Sunday? While there’s no wrong way to watch the Big Game, some places offer a fun, unique experience that sitting on the couch at home just can’t compete with.
American Social is an upscale, yet casual bar rooted in All-American culture. As one of the best restaurants in Orlando, we’re excited to host the many sports fans eager to watch their teams throw down. This year, we invite you to hang out with us, have a few beers, and see why AMSO is the best place to watch the Big Game.
1. You Can Get the Fan Experience Without the Stadium
One of the best things about going to the stadium is the comradery of rooting for your team with fellow fans. Is there anything as exhilarating as roaring with the crowd as you witness a fantastic play? We don’t think so.
Being part of something bigger than yourself is one of the major draws of sports for fans and athletes alike, and having a seat in the midst of a sea of sports lovers is the epitome of that feeling. However, watching the Big Game at a stadium can have a few downsides:
- Being outside, where the cold temperatures may make your experience uncomfortable
- Having a poor view of the field
- Getting stuck next to belligerent or rude people who ruin the experience
Fortunately, you can get the stadium experience without having to ever set foot in the actual stadium. On Super Sunday, people gather at sports bars in Orlando, including our very own AMSO, to share in that special connection that only loyal fans can understand. This year, ditch the hard, plastic stadium seat and pull up a stool to cheer with your fellow devotees at the bar.
2. You Can Eat Great Food
The Big Game may be the most important thing on Super Sunday, but great food is a close second. Who isn’t nostalgic about the hot dogs and nachos while sitting in an open stadium? While we agree that there’s something really special about the classic fare served at stadiums, there’s a couple of drawbacks as well.
For one, the food is usually overpriced; for another, you typically have to wait in long lines. When you finally get back to your seat (after potentially missing an exciting moment), you have to avoid getting mustard all over your shoes while juggling your hot dog and beer.
Home viewing parties aren’t much better. If you’re going potluck-style, you have to rely on your guests to provide most of the food and hope no one forgets their dish. If you’re taking on all culinary duties yourself, you have to deal with the stress, mess, and expense of feeding a full house.
Why put yourself through all that when you can just head down to AMSO in Orlando? We’ve got a fantastic menu full of your All-American favorites:
- Mac & Cheese
- Soft Baked Pretzels
- Pepperoni Pizza
- BBQ Pork Belly
Here, you can eat the best grub without lifting a finger or even having to leave your seat.
3. You Can Have Your Choice of the Best Drinks
In our humble opinion, it isn’t really Super Sunday without your favorite adult beverages. At American Social, drinks are our specialty.
We’ve got an excellent selection of beers on tap, as well as wines and cocktails. If you’re a fan of liquor, we offer a wide range:
- Patron Silver Tequila
- Grey Goose Vodka
- Crown Royal Whiskey
- Bombay Sapphire Gin
- Dewars White Label Scotch
- Captain Morgan Spiced Rum
- Jim Beam White Label Bourbon
When you choose AMSO for your game-watching experience, you can get cold drinks for a fair price. There’s no need to flag down a passing beer vendor who’s scrambling to meet demand or risk spilling your overpriced drink due to an overzealous neighbor bumping into you. There’s also no risk of running low on supplies and having to make a beer run in the middle of the game. Instead, you get to enjoy your drink of choice in comfort and great company.
4. You Get the Best Service in Orlando
While we’re sure stadium employees deliver excellent customer service, it just can’t compare with the friendliness and thoughtful attention of AMSO’s staff. Our waitstaff knows that quick, efficient service can make or break a customer’s experience, which is why they’re always available for a top-off or to put through an extra order of fries. They’re great about checking on your party throughout your stay to anticipate your needs.
Knowing you have servers on-hand lets you truly relax and enjoy yourself. Unlike hosting at home, you don’t have to worry about protecting your carpet from spills or taking out the overflowing trash. There’s also no risk of resentment among friends and family as one person takes on the burden of cleaning up; our team of professional bussers and servers are more than happy to clear away empty plates, bring extra silverware, or deliver napkins so you can focus on the game.
5. You Can Make New Friends
There’s nothing wrong with enjoying a football game solo, but the Big Game is an excellent opportunity to socialize and live it up. But what if your inner circle isn’t interested in sports or you’re simply new in town and haven’t met any fellow fans yet? At AMSO, you’re sure to find a warm welcome.
American Social is a place where you can laugh, joke, and have fun after the stress of the workweek. This casual atmosphere is present even during high-energy events such as the Big Game. Even if you’re not a die-hard devotee of the teams going head-to-head, you can join in the celebration and meet people who enjoy sharing a good drink. At the end of the day, you may leave with a few new buddies you look forward to seeing again.
6. You Don’t Have to Compete for a View
Sometimes the hardest thing about Super Sunday is just getting a decent view of the game. If you’re hosting at home, you better have a big-screen TV, or people are going to be jostling for a good view. Once you get a serviceable seat, you risk losing it if you get up for a trip to the kitchen or bathroom. Depending on how invested everyone is in the game, there may even be arguments or resentment about who sits where.
You may run into similar issues if you watch from the stadium. Good seats are expensive, which means that if you don’t want to break the bank, you may end up watching the jumbotron for most of the game anyway. The other problem is that you can’t control who you sit near, so you may end up with a view blocked by a tall person or someone who feels the need to stand or gesticulate constantly.
When you take a seat at AMSO, you’ve got a great view no matter where you are. As a sports bar, we’ve invested in a number of HD televisions so all our patrons can watch the Big Game.
7. You Can Save a Few Bucks
Watching the Big Game in the stadium isn’t cheap. Besides getting hold of a ticket, you also have to think about the cost of food and drink. There are even more expenses if you’re traveling:
- Car rental
- Gas
- Hotel stays
- Plane tickets
- Food and drink during your journey
Unfortunately, not everyone has the cash on hand to get a stadium seat.
So what about a Super Sunday party? While hosting may not cost as much as attending the Big Game, it can get expensive fast.
Potlucks are a great way to keep the bill down with a party, but you may still be responsible for providing plates, cups, and silverware. If you decorate or decide to go with catering, those are yet more expenses.
On the other hand, you can get more and spend less at AMSO. If you’re in a group, everyone can be responsible for their own tab, so no one takes advantage of “free” food or doesn’t pay their fair share.
8. You Don’t Have to Worry About Transportation
If you decide to watch the Big Game at the stadium, you’re going to have to deal with parking. You can spend forever trying to find a parking spot and still have to walk a quarter of a mile just to reach the stadium. That’s not to mention how expensive parking can get, especially during heavy-traffic hours, which the Big Game will probably fall within.
This means a trip to the stadium takes a lot of planning and even more time, especially if you intend to meet a group of friends there. Depending on the crowds, the layout of the lots, and how well-managed the parking structures are, you could arrive an hour early and still not find your seat before the game starts.
By contrast, hitting up your local Orlando sports bar is much less trouble. You and your buddies can get to AMSO early and settle in so you all have your preferred drinks and a piping hot plate in front of you by the time kickoff rolls around.
9. You Can Host Without the Hassle
What if you like hosting Super Sunday, but aren’t up to all the stress this year? You can still act as host with American Social backing you up.
You can book one of our two event spaces for a private party: the Private Dining Room or the Liberty Lounge. The Private Dining Room is the perfect choice for a party of 12 to 30 and mixes formal furnishings with old-fashioned fun. The Liberty Lounge seats 15 to 60 and has standing room for up to 150 people. The atmosphere here is a little more laid-back, with America-themed décor.
If you prefer to be in the middle of the action, you can also make a reservation for a table out on the main floor. Whichever area you choose, you’ll have the incredible staff and phenomenal chefs at American Social at your back.
10. You Can Combine Two of Your Favorite Things
Many people enjoy going out to the bar as an experience in and of itself. If you’re a fan of the bar scene, watching the Big Game from American Social gives you a chance to combine two things you love. You get to eat all your favorite bar food, drink beer on tap, and watch the best-of-the-best duke it out for the championship. What’s not to love about this scenario?
Are you excited to make American Social your Super Sunday headquarters? We’re proud to host our fellow sports fans for the biggest game of the year. Our philosophy is that your bar of choice should be comfortable and filled with the best beverages, dishes, and service, no matter the occasion.
