Things are heating up in Miami! The new year brings stellar shows, fun festivals, and exciting events. This is right up our alley here at American Social. As a premier sports bar in downtown Miami, we love being in the mix of all the action. For us, every day is a party. We rock it out with our patrons by serving up tasty dishes and thirst-quenching beers. If you’re ready to level-up your 2019 social calendar, check out these coming attractions taking place in South Florida.

GroundUp Music Festival

Kick it on the beach in Miami Beach, Florida, with Snarky Puppy. This Grammy award-winning fushion band headlines a three-day concert event. It features eclectic musical artists, delectable food prepared by celebrity chef Michelle Bernstein, and band workshops. Mark your calendar for February 8-10. What could be better than a music-filled beach party in balmy 74-degree weather? It’s no wonder the festival is touted as a top 10 music event.

Carnaval on the Mile

Carnaval on the Mile is an annual family-friendly festival taking place in downtown Coral Gables. The event takes place along Miracle Mile, which is lined with food trucks, local artisanal vendors, and stages. While strolling, you can listen to pulsating sounds ranging from Caribbean Jazz and Latin Jazz to Funk and Conga. You can dance, eat, and shop to your heart’s content on March 2-3.

MITA Textile Design

Until April 28th, you can explore Italian textile created from 1926 to 1976. The Wolfsonian – FIU in Miami Beach is hosting this exhibition that provides patrons views of printed fabrics, scarves, tapestries, carpets, and original design drawings. MITA, which stands for made in Italy, is a must-see if you appreciate the finer things in life.

The Lion King

If you know the words to Hakuna Matata, you are a certified fan of the six-time Tony award-winning Broadway musical. If you haven’t seen this masterpiece live, you don’t know what you’re missing. You’ll be blown away by the costumes, acting, singing, and set design. Schedule some time aside and head over to the Adrienne Arsht Center on May 8 – 26. The Lion King live is a one in a million extravaganza.

Hot Concerts

Miami attracts its share of top musical talent. Whether you like snapping your fingers to the latest pop tunes, bobbing your head to some 90s rock, chillin’ with some alternative rap/hip-hop, or relaxing to some orchestral sounds, the City has it covered. In June, consider checking out these acts:

• Ariana Grande: Jun 1 at 8:00 PM – American Airlines Arena (Miami)
• Hootie and The Blowfish: June 8 at 7:30 PM – Coral Sky Amphitheatre (West Palm Beach)
• Twenty One Pilots: June 15 at 7:00 PM – American Airlines Arena (Miami)
• Gulf Coast Symphony Orchestra – Star Wars in Concert: June 23 at 2:00 PM – Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall (Fort Myers)

Miami FUNKSHION Swim Week

There’s nothing hotter in July than this sizzling, sexy fashion show. The annual FUNKSHION showcases established and up-coming designers who are taking swim and resort fashion to new levels. The splashy, action-packed event takes place at Collins Park in Miami Beach from July 11 – 14. After watching gorgeous models strut the trendiest swimwear on the catwalk, you can dive into your choice of industry events and after parties.

The Big Game

This is one of the biggest and most watched sporting events of the year. In 2020, Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens will be hosting the big game, which means 2019 will be an entire year of prepping to put on this spectacular event.

Keep the Party Goin’!

If you’re still amped after leaving any of these events, bring that energy to American Social. We offer dinner with a view, half-off drinks, bar bites, bottomless mimosas, signature burgers, and organic salads. Come hang out at one of the best bars in Brickell. We can’t wait to show you how we turn every day into a no-holds-barred social event.
