Best Beaches in Tampa
Next time you’re headed to Tampa, here are some of our favorite beaches to add to your must-visit list.
Ben T. Davis Beach
Ben T. Davis Beach is Tampa’s largest beach and easily earns the city’s best public beach title. Despite its central location, you might be surprised at just how serene this scenic spot is. There are plenty of picnic areas for a quick beachside snack, as well as a variety of spots to challenge your crew to a game of beach volleyball.
Apollo Beach Nature Reserve
You’ll find two gorgeous beaches within the Apollo Beach Nature Preserve, both boasting beautiful views and a myriad of local wildlife. Depending on the day, you might even be lucky enough to get a glimpse of a manatee, one of Florida’s most famous and beloved creatures. Fishing, swimming, sunbathing, and bird-watching are all available on the two acres of open sand.
Calm, warm water, and soft sands make Madeira Beach a Tampa favorite, especially for families. The relaxed atmosphere and friendly locals are sure to make you feel right at home, setting the stage for next-level relaxation. After a nap in the sand, stretch your legs by exploring the boardwalk, which is filled with a number of local shops.
Archibald Beach Park
You can easily spend an entire day at Archibald Beach Park, a public beach in Tampa that provides everything from restrooms and showers to shaded picnic areas and volleyball courts. Nicknamed The Hammocks, this beach is a must for vacationers and locals alike.
Sand Key Park
Live like a local at Sand Key Park, a hidden gem on a barrier island between the mainland and the Gulf. It’s a wonderfully quiet spot that’s mostly unknown by tourists, so it’s an ideal spot to get away from the crowds. Surf, hunt for seashells and look for sea turtles while you spend the day at Sand Key.
American Social: Your Post-Beach Day Hangout
After all that sun, sand, and surf, the good times don’t have to end – especially when you head to American Social’s Tampa bar and kitchen.
Casual but upscale, American Social is a Florida favorite that has it all: a lively vibe, outstanding food, and a drink selection that rivals any of the best bars in Tampa.
